Kolkata, Aug 29 (IANS) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Thursday announced the allotment of five acres of land in Kolkata for a university under the aegis of Ramakrishna Mission.
“During my recent visit to Ramakrishna Mission in Belur (in Howrah), they requested land for establishing a university. We have sanctioned five acres in Rajarhat (in Kolkata),” Banerjee told the media.
Ramakrishna Mission, headquartered in Belur, was founded by Swami Vivekananda in 1897.
