Agra, Oct 26 (IANS) Pharmaceutical industry experts spoke about career opportunities in clinical research and “pharmacovigilance” at a workshop in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, Saturday.
The workshop was organised by Mangalayatan University, and among the speakers were specialists from well known pharmaceutical firms, who urged students to learn about new methodology in these emerging fields to find challenging and exciting careers in them.
Puneet Gupta, business development manager, Cliniminds, discussed the basics of clinical research and trial and career opportunities.
“There are a vast number of opportunities in the field,” he said, detailing the different processes that anyone seeking to enter the field needs to master.
“In the next few years, professionals will be needed in clinical data management, analytics, medical writing, drug patents and health insurance,” he said.
Rajneesh Vats, regulatory manager, Pfizer India, spoke of drug regulatory matters in India.
Paresh Varshney, medical advisor, YES Regulatory Services, discussed the role of scientific and medical writing in regulatory support.
Vice chancellor S.C. Jain asked students to develop core and practical knowledge of the industry before deciding on a career in it.
