Mumbai, Nov 22 (IANS) As a filmmaker, Abhinav Kashyap is glad that the global movie market is looking at India for characters, stories and locations as in Ang Lee’s “Life Of Pi”, but he feels it is time for Indian moviemakers to take a cue as well.
“It’s good that foreigners are opening up to the Indian stories and stories about Indian people, it’s good. But I think it’s early days. Hopefully such good stories are also made in India. Hopefully our budgets improve and hopefully the taste of our audience also improves. A lot of things matter,” the 38−year−old said here Wednesday at a special screening of “Life of Pi”, the story of an Indian boy’s adventure.
Meanwhile, talking about the postponement of his upcoming film “Besharam”, Kashyap said: “The film has been postponed a bit. My cast has Ranbir (Kapoor). He does only one movie at a time.
“If some problem occurs with the film he is already doing, then automatically my film also shifts forward. But there is no such major postponement, it is only for one or one−and−half months. I will start (shooting) on Dec 10,” he added.
Kashyap, brother of the critically Anurag Kashyap, made his directorial debut with 2010 blockbuster “Dabangg”.
