Mumbai, Oct 20 (IANS) Bollywood actor Akshaye Khanna claims he was duped of Rs.50 lakh after being promised quick and handsome returns from investments in the commodity market. The crime branch of Mumbai police is investigating the complaint filed by him, a police official confirmed Sunday.
The complaint has been lodged at the Malabar Hill police station.
“Yes, a complaint was registered at our police station Friday evening by Akshaye Khanna’s lawyer. The current status is that the crime branch is investigating the case. Once we get any update, we can speak on that,” senior inspector Vinay Bagade told IANS.
According to reports, Akshaye has named in his complaint Satyabrata Chakravarty and his wife Sona, president and director, respectively, of Intech Images Private Ltd, who allegedly duped him of Rs.50 lakh, after promising him that they would double it in 45 days after investing it in the commodity market.
Son of yesteryear star Vinod Khanna, the 38-year-old is known for films such as “Taal”, “Dil Chahta Hai”, “Humraaz”, “Hulchul” and “Gandhi, My Father”. He was last seen in the 2012 release “Gali Gali Chor Hai”.
