Chennai, Dec 28 (IANS) Tamil filmmakers are cashing in on popular dialogues and songs as their films’ titles. Filmmaker R. Kannan has registered the title “Adiye Kantha”, a popular dialogue from cult classic “Ratha Kanner”, for his next film.

“I’m in the process of completing the script work of the film. It’s a horror-comedy, and the ghost in my film is called Kantha. I asked myself what’s better title than ‘Adiye Kantha’, a popular dialogue, which is still remembered by Tamil audiences,” Kannan told IANS.
The director is yet to finalise his cast, but says the lead actor would be expected to play a “dual personality” character.
Interesting part is that Kannan’s other upcoming Tamil film, an action-thriller “Poda Aandavane En Pakkam”, is a popular line borrowed from superstar Rajinikanth’s film “Padayappa”.
Films like “Nanbenda” and “Kaduval Paadhi Mirugam Paadhi” have also used dialogues as titles.
