New Delhi, Sep 15 (IANS) What is the latest party look? Androgynous! Style-conscious women can team up pants with jackets and make a style statement, say experts. They can take tips from the likes of Anushka Sharma and Priyanka Chopra on how to carry it with panache.

Vandy Mehra, group director of Study By Janak, says it makes a powerful statement and also adds an edge to your dressing.
“Well-fitted pants and blazers with wide lapels look chic,” Mehra told IANS.
“You can alternate pants and go for different fits like high waisted pants, the wide legged palazzo style pants and cigarette pants. The blazer, however, should always be fitted. Short women should not opt for palazzo pants as they will make them appear shorter,” she added.
As the trend is catching up, designer Kavita Bhartia, owner of Ogaan, says flared pants with fitted jackets can be tried too. “The combination is good for those who have big hips,” she added.
Mehra advises to try pastel pink, pastel green, icey blue to kill the masculine look. The other way to do is by choosing the right top to team up with the suit.
“If you are teaming it with high waisted pants, then the top should be well-fitted which hugs your body and can be easily tucked in. Otherwise an effeminate blouse in chiffon or silk will complement the pant suit well. It is typically an androgynous look and the chiffon blouse will add that feminine touch to it,” she said.
Go minimal with accessories.
“You can wear a wide cuff on the wrist or a classy necklace if you like. Slip on a pair of stiletto and put on some lipstick and you are ready to go,” Mehra said.
Makeup artist Niti Luthra also supports minimal makeup.
While daytime, one can go with nude makeup, for evening she suggests to switch from neutral lip colour to something bright.
“One can use bright lip colour and more kohl on the eyes. As far as hair goes, they can tie a French bun as it looks neat. High pony tails also look tidy,” she said.
