Candolim (Goa), Dec 30 (IANS) Grammy award winner Italian DJ Benny Benassi, who wowed music lovers with his debut performance in India, loves Indian food and says he is relishing desi dishes.
“This is the first time I am here and I am really happy. Goa is crazy and I love the food and happy that I am finally tasting Indian food,” Benassi told reporters soon after his act at the fourth day of the inaugural Vh1 Supersonic 2013 festival here.
The Milan born is widely regarded as one of the most charming and down to earth artists. With over a decade long illustrious career, the well-known artist has managed to capture the hearts of multiple generations of EDM fans across the world.
Soon after his international hit single “Satisfaction”, which was unleashed in 2002, he has headlined performances at countless festivals around the globe including Ultra Music Festival, Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival, Movement, UV Nation and Labour of Love not to forget his string of high-profile remixes and collaborations with the likes of Madonna, Kelis and David Bowie.
His signature style is playing mix of tech, electro and house infused sounds and he love interacting and connecting with audience during his performances and this is what he did his gig here.
“It took me five years to say yes to Nikhil Chinappa (the man behind Supersonic), but I love the way people have connected to my music. It feels great,” he said.
The first edition of the five-day dance festival started Thursday and showcased a mix of electronic dance genres including trance, techno, dubstep and house among others.
Artists such as English EDM group Above & Beyond, German house duo Booka Shade, Grammy-nominated producer BT and Dutch EDM producer and DJ Ferry Corsten, are the part of festival.
Some of the Indian artists featured on the line-up include drum n bass DJ Vachan Chinnappa, progressive and psy-trance DJ Ma Faiza and minimal and tech-house DJ Ash Roy.
