New Delhi, Sep 1 (IANS) The top four finalists – Nirvesh Sudhanshubhai Dave, Debanjana Karmakar, Anmol Jaswal and Anjana Padmanabhan – will fight for the winner’s trophy of the first edition of the singing reality show “Indian Idol Junior”. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan will hand over the trophy to the winner.

The final will be aired Sunday. The show kickstarted June 1 on Sony Entertainment channel with kids between the age group of five and 15 years auditioning from different parts of the country.
The gala episode of the show, judged by singer Shreya Ghoshal along with music composer duo Vishal and Shekhar, started with 11 contestants – Anjana, Debanjana, Anmol, Nirvesh, Sugandha Amol Date, Sonakshi Kar, Priyam Borpatra Gohain, Akash Sharma, Sankalp Yaduwanshi, Eman Chaudhary and Aryan Das.
“Indian Idol Junior” has so far seen many celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Pyarelal gracing the show. Along with them, the contestants impressed melody queen Lata Mangeshkar. The 83-year-old found it unfair that only one winner gets selected in such shows. She even requested the organisers to give awards to top five contestants to encourge the young talent.
Bollywood star Salman Khan also praised the particpants. He was specifically rooting for Akash, who got eliminated during the course of the show.
The final episode, which will air 8.30 p.m., will again be a star-studded event as “Zanjeer” stars Priyanka Chopra and Ram Charan Teja will make an apperance on the show. Also in attendance will be Shahid Kapoor to promote his upcoming film “Phata Poster Nikla Hero”.
Apart from performances by the top four contestants, there will be other entertaining acts too in the final episode.
While the judges will belt out some hit numbers, Karan Wahi, who co-hosts the show with Mandira Bedi, will jive to the beats of “Balam pichkari” from this year’s superhit film “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”.
