London, Oct 7 (Inditop.com) Their father sees modelling as a way for them to see the world, say Theodora and Alexandra Richards, daughters of Rolling Stones lead guitarist Keith Richards, who have featured in the 2009 autumn winter collection of apparel brand French Connection.

The sisters, who are following their supermodel mom Patti Hansen’s footsteps, were happy to promote the prestigious British ready-to-wear brand.

“We are really excited to be modelling French Connection in their international autumn winter 2009 campaign. It feels great to be a part of something so massive,” the duo told Inditop in an email interview.

The Richards’ siblings are daddy’s girls.

“Our dad saw modelling as an opportunity for us to travel and see the world. Dad trusts us and is very supportive of us,” Alexandra, 23, said.

Theodora, who is 24, takes “mum seriously”. “Mum told me that I have a good head on my shoulders. I can take my own decisions because it’s heavy duty,” she said.

Some of the girls get sucked in and the lifestyle is a little much, Theodora said.

“The toughest part is how you represent yourself and how you treat other people, because there is an attitude that comes with this lifestyle. And I don’t want it. My parents raised me to treat people how you want to be treated yourself. My passion for art also influences the way I dress – I love colour and movement and art has those components,” Theodora said.

The sisters have strong fashion choices.

“I get over the top with certain fashion choices, but I can’t do different hairstyles well on my own while Alexandra always looks well put together. I wear more colours I feel, but Alexandra is a rainbow on her own. I like to wear weird things and stand out,” Theodora said.

Alexandra agrees with her sister. “Theo is definitely more colourful. I don’t like to look too made up. I like people to see me regardless of how dressed up I am. Simple is more for me. If I was to have a signature look, I would be wearing something black and comfortable, but accessorize with jewellery such as bangles and long earrings. It is an easy way for me,” she said.

Theodora loved a “certain pair of shoes” at the French Connection campaign. “They were slip on leather booties, very comfortable and go with everything,” she said.

Alexandra voted for a “blue body conscious dress”. “It was very much something I would wear out to a dinner or dance.”

The girls were introduced to the world of modelling by their supermodel mother Patti Hansen, Keith’s wife.

The girls used to follow her to glamorous shoots around the world, while dad was busy making music, writing songs and producing albums with pal Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones.

Keith Richards is one of the founding member’s of the legendary rock band.

French Connection, which was established in 1972 by Stephen Marks, is one of the strongest brands on the British high street, operating in over 25 countries with 85 stores.

The autumn winter collection, says Fabien Baron of French Connection, was inspired by the 1980s look of strong colours and cool silhouettes.
