Mumbai, April 30 (Inditop.com) Once and for all Akshay Kumar sets the record straight on his pairing with Priyanka Chopra by saying he won’t mind teaming up with her again if she is interested in doing comedies.

“But will she do a film with me? The ball is in her court. I mostly do comedies. I think Priyanka hardly ever acts in comedies,” Akshay told Inditop.

Akshay and Priyanka’s first movie together was “Andaaz” in 2003. After that they gave hits like “Aitraaz” (2004), “Mujhse Shaadi Karogi” (2004) and “Waqt – The Race Against Time” (2005).

“We’re all professionals here. And the two of us have done very successful films in the past. I’d love to work with Priyanka Chopra again. Mujhe koi aitraaz nahin hai (I don’t have any problem). But I’m only doing comedy films these days. I don’t know whether she wants to do a comedy film. Even Farah Khan’s ‘Tees Maar Khan’ is a comedy,” said Akshay.

Having decided he would do predominantly comedy roles, Akshay is now on the look-out for ways to make it interesting. “Even if it’s a comedy, it better be interesting. If I continue doing the same thing over and over again, I’d be asked to pack up sooner than I’d like.”

Akshay had a ball doing his just released “Housefull” that also stars Arjun Rampal, Riteish Deshmukh, Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone and Jiah Khan.

“Not just the three ladies, but also Riteish and Arjun. Riteish was great fun. Shooting was a playground with him around. He just cracks me up.”

“We once put all the cutlery at the breakfast table in a hotel in Italy in Jiah Khan’s bag and told the waiter to check her bag. Jiah took it sportingly. Arjun too has great comic timing. Lara is such an elegant lady and yet she can be one of the boys when it comes to comedy.”

Right now Akshay is taking training as a bowler for his film “Patiala House”. The actor is also learning to be a professional cricketer and plans to play at the national level soon.

“I’m working towards it. Practicing cricket gives me the biggest high. Every morning I look forward to practicing with Balwinder Singh Sandhu,” Akshay said.

“I am not yet good enough to play national level cricket, but I am getting there. I’ve been taking bowling lessons for ‘Patiala House’ from one of the best trainers. I’m very sporty by nature. So it was quite easy for me to pick it up,” he said.

Akshay trains in cricket for a couple of hours every day. “I’m getting good enough to play beyond the film. And I will very soon. I promise you.”
