New Delhi, May 20 (Inditop.com) “Taare Zameen Par”, “Antaheen” and “Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!” are part of a three-city Indian films’ week that will begin in Beijing June 24.

Anurag Misra, director (administration) of the Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF), said the festival will begin with “Antaheen”.

After Beijing, the festival will travel to Chongqing June 28 and in July it will go to Guangzhou.

“The Indian embassy is organising the film week as part of the ‘India in China 2010’ programme. In all, 10 films will be screened there,” a source from DFF told Inditop.

“The movies include ‘Taare Zameen Par’, ‘Antaheen’ (Bengali), ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’, ‘Ek Cup Chai’ (Marathi), ‘Keshu’ (Malayalam), ‘The White Elephant’, ‘Pasanga’ (Tamil), ‘Shob Charitro Kalponik’ (Bengali), ‘Gabhricha Paus’ (Marathi) and ‘Harishchandrachi Factory’ (Marathi),” the official added.

Another source said: “The prints for all the movies have been sent to China except ‘Harishchandrachi Factory’. As soon as it arrives at DFF, we’ll send that too.”

The ‘India in China 2010’ follows the ‘China in India 2010’ event that is being celebrated in India to mark the diamond jubilee celebrations of the establishment of bilateral relations.

A three-city, Chinese film festival commenced in the capital Monday with “Confucius”. It will then travel to Kolkata and Pune.

The events are a team effort of DFF, China State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and the embassies of both the countries.
