New Delhi, Sep 5 (Inditop.com) He tied the knot more than a year ago and marriage is surely doing Ayaan Ali Khan a lot of good. The young musician, who turned 30 Saturday, confesses that he is less restless after his marriage to Neema Sharma, who simply loves the music her husband creates.
“I feel marriage has made me a little more relaxed. I’m still quite restless when it comes to my work, but on a personal front I feel I am a lot more at peace with myself now and less restless. I don’t feel the pressure even when things are hectic and I feel that’s because of Neema’s presence,” Ayaan, who got married Feb 21 last year, told Inditop in an interview.
Ayaan is the son of sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan. Neema is Hindi film producer Romesh Sharma’s daughter.
“I feel very fortunate to have Neema in my life. She has adjusted very well in my family. She understands me, my way of life and my family very well. I feel really blessed to have her in my life,” said Ayaan.
Asked if his wife is fond of Indian classical music, the musician said Neema loved music played by him.
“She loves the music I play. Apart from that she has a good ear for music and listens to all kinds of music. Recently she has been intrigued by Indian classical music,” said Ayaan, who is scheduled to perform in London with brother Amaan on his birthday.
The sarod recital will be held at the King’s Place in London in three segments. And Ayaan is really looking forward to the event.
“It’s a very prestigious venue. I will give solo performance first, then Amaan will have his solo. After that both of us will perform together. I’m really looking forward to it because it is really an honour to play at such a venue which is famous for chamber music and western classical and where Indian concerts are very rare,” said Ayaan.
He said that there was no better way of celebrating his birthday than giving a sarod recital.
“I am very glad that on my birthday I will be doing what I am passionate about – music. I have many friends in London; so I will catch up with them. My parents and my wife won’t be there; so I will definitely miss them, but I hope to celebrate with them once I’m back,” he added.
Along with the concerts, Ayaan is working on two albums. He will collaborate with his father for one of them and the other is an experimental album, which had been kept on hold earlier.
