Mumbai, Feb 14 (Inditop.com) Director Karan Johar, who headed directly to multiplexes here Sunday after returning from Berlin to see the audience response to his film “My Name Is Khan”, says he was moved by the support and positive response from audiences.
“It’s very heartwarming. A filmmaker’s biggest dream is that his film connects with his audience. I am thrilled, ecstatic and literally folding my hands and saying thank you (to all fans),” Johar said at Fun Cinemas, Andheri (West) here.
“I won’t say anything beyond the film. In the film, Rizwan Khan (the protagonist) says, ‘We shall overcome’ and I think we are successful,” he added.
The film got into trouble when Shiv Sena launched a protest against it after its lead actor Shah Rukh Khan’s pro-Pakistan stance and tried to disrupt the screening in Mumbai and other parts of the country as well.
But Shah Rukh fans gave the thumbs down to the Shiv Sena by thronging cinema halls across India Friday to watch the movie.
Johar was in Berlin for the red carpet premiere of “My Name Is Khan”.
