New Delhi, July 18 (Inditop.com) Raveena Tandon has always been associated with different charitable programmes. Now the actress has associated herself with a sponsorship programme to provide quality education to poor children.
The 34-year-old who has been part of programmes by Child Care and You (CRY) and Unicef, among others, visited Delhi along with the marketing head of Hindi general entertainment channel Colors, Rameet Arora, to hand over a sponsorship certificate by the channel to Nai Disha — a school for children from poor families.
The sponsorship programme was part of a nationwide celebration of the channel’s first anniversary July 21.
“I have always associated myself with programmes and initiatives that include children. I feel safer with kids and have more fun with them.
“This is the reason why I have judged children’s shows and am involved with charities that will benefit the future of our country,” Raveena, a judge on the channel’s children’s reality show “Chhote Miyan – Chapter 2”, told reporters here.
“It was great coming here and meeting these children. Their enthusiasm and spirit make you feel so nice. I am happy that Colors is celebrating with such an unique approach. It is a good way to give back to people,” added Raveena, looking ravishing in a cream and black suit.
The initiative will be launched in other cities like Chandigarh, Amritsar, Patna, Kolkata, Pune and Ahmedabad, Colors official Rameet Arora said.
