New Delhi, March 31 (IANS) There is no fixed formula to becoming successful, says playback singer Harshdeep Kaur, known for her Sufi songs like “Katiya karoon”.

“There is no fixed rule or mantra to become a successful singer. One has to sing well, but there are other things that matter. You should be able to use an opportunity that comes your way, right attitude is also important, be humble, down to earth, work hard and luck is also one factor,” Harshdeep told IANS.
The 26-year-old, who won the singing reality show “Junoon Kuchh Kar Dikhaane Ka” on NDTV Imagine in September 2008, believes: “Reality shows are helpful for new singers. People start knowing you by face.”
Harshdeep, who has also sung songs like “Heer Heer”, “Luni hasi” and “Jhak maar ke”, recently made her television debut with “Baani – Ishq Ka Kalma”.
The show, aired on Colors, traces the plight of brides in Punjab who are left behind by their NRI husbands. Harshdeep plays a musical narrator.
“I take the story forward and feature as myself. I am not acting in it,” she said.
