Chennai, Aug 27 (IANS) Director Ramsubramaniam believes that a delay in the release of a film won’t affect its box-office prospect because a good film will always be received well by the audience.
His Tamil drama “Thanga Meengal” is finally coming Friday after months of delay.
“There is no good or bad time to release a film because if it’s good, then the audience will make it successful with word of mouth. One need not worry about the box-office prospects of a film just because it got delayed,” Ram told IANS.
“A bad film will most likely not click regardless of its time of release. I have made a good film and I’m sure audiences will love it. I don’t have to go out of my way to promote it and unnecessarily raise hopes of the audience,” he added.
“Thanga Meengal”, which also features Ram in the lead role, is about father-daughter relationship and also touches upon importance of primary school education.
At a private screening recently, it got thumbs up from the industry members.
After watching the film, director Venkat Prabhu said: “‘Thanga Meengal” is a heart-warming movie. I watched it with my daughter! Both of us loved it! Awesome performances from everyone! Don’t miss it”.
National Award winning director Balaji Sakthivel said: “Ram and the child artist Sadhana were brilliant in their performances. I wish the film wins a National Award.”
“Thanga Meengal” is produced by filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon along with Reshma Ghatala and Venkat Somasundaram. Shelly Kishore, Padmapriya and Rohini will also be seen in important roles in the film.
