Chennai, Oct 9 (IANS) “Prema Katha Chitram”, Telugu film industry’s recent blockbuster which is currently being remade in Kannada, may soon have a Hindi remake as well. Filmmaker Maruthi is keen to helm the Hindi version.

“Talks are on for the Hindi remake. We haven’t finalised anything on papers yet, but if it happens, and I happen to have the time, I might direct it. I’m interested to direct it, but I need to find time from my other commitments,” Maruthi, who has produced “Prema Katha Chitram”, told IANS.
Telugu producer Adi Seshagiri Rao has acquired the remake rights of the film. He is expected to tie up with a big studio in Bollywood for the remake.
The horror-comedy, directed by R. Ravi Kumar was one of the biggest low budget hits of the year. Reportedly made under a budget of Rs.2 crore, the film minted over Rs.20 crore at the box office.
The film, which released earlier this year, successfully completed a run of hundred days run at the box office. It features Sudheer Babu, Nandita, Praveen and Saptagiri in lead roles.
The movie’s Kannada version is titled “Chandralekha”, which stars Chiranjeevi Sarja and Shavi Srivastav in the lead.
