New Delhi, March 1 (IANS) Bollywood director Rohit Shetty, known for his flair for comedy, has decided to blow up 20 cars for the opening sequence of his upcoming ‘Singham’ as he does not want to compromise on high-octane action scenes.

‘The scene is set in a parking lot where a kidnapping takes place. It is a chase scene between Ajay (Devgn) and some gangsters for which we will require to blow up cars. In the shot, there will be about 200 cars out of which we will blow up 20 cars,’ Shetty said in a press statement.

The movie is a remake of a Tamil action film of the same name.

Shetty, who has made movies like ‘Sunday’, the ‘Golmaal’ series and ‘All the Best: Fun Begins’, is quite charged up and has decided to himself conceptualise, design and execute the action for the film.

Produced by Reliance Pictures, the film also features southern actress Kajal Aggarwal. Both lead actors will be joining the crew in Goa as ‘Singam’ goes on floors Wednesday.

It will release in July.
