New Delhi, Oct 31 (IANS) The total number of dengue cases in the national capital crossed 1,000 Wednesday with 34 fresh cases of the vector-borne disease reported.

The total number of cases now stands at 1,019, official data said.
Dengue vector has claimed two lives in the capital so far this year.
Of the 34 new cases, 13 were reported from areas in North Delhi Municipal Corporation, 10 from South Delhi Municipal Corporation and nine from East Delhi Municipal Corporation.
The remaining two cases came from New Delhi Municipal Council and the railway area.
Areas under South Delhi Municipal Corporation continue to top the list with 381 cases.
In 2011, 749 cases of dengue were reported in the city.
