New Delhi, Jan 29 (IANS) Activist Anna Hazare reached the national capital Sunday for a medical check-up at the Medanta hospital, a senior doctor said.
“He (Anna Hazare) has complained of swelling and pain in the chest. A team of doctors would be conduct a blood test, an ECG and some other tests to monitor his heart’s functioning,” a senior doctor monitoring Hazare told IANS.
The 74-year old activist was admitted to a hospital December-end after breaking his fast in Mumbai as he suffered from chest infection. According to his aides, the antibiotics have shown side effects on him.
“Because of the hard antibiotics that were being administered to him, Annaji has had some side effects,” an associate told IANS.
Hazare is likely to stay in Medanta for two days after which he will be shifted to Bangalore’s Jindal Naturecare Institute.
“The test reports will be out by tomorrow. Dr Naresh Trehan will be monitoring his condition,” the doctor added.
Hazare was discharged from Pune’s Sancheti Hospital Jan 8 and was recommended at least a month’s rest by doctors.
