Bhopal, July 22 (Inditop.com) The opposition Congress Wednesday blamed the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for allowing the health services in Madhya Pradesh to deteriorate by not finding a solution to a two-day old strike by junior doctors in five medical college and hospitals in the state.
Nearly 1,150 junior doctors are on strike demanding a hike in stipend and reduction in the post-graduation fees.
Congress legislator Ramniwas Rawat, who raised the issue in the state assembly during the zero hour, said health services had been affected in all the five medical colleges due to the strike but the government was doing little to solve the problem.
Kalpana Parulekar of the Congress said it was a serious issue since the health services were suffering and the government, which had expelled all the striking doctors, should make its stand clear.
Health Minister Anup Misra, however, said the government had declared the strike illegal and the doctors should return to work.
Mishra also claimed that the government had made alternative arrangements for providing treatment to patients in the hospitals.
