Hyderabad, July 22 (Inditop.com) Four children and a woman Wednesday tested positive for influenza A(H1N1), taking the number of swine flu cases in Andhra Pradesh to 48, health officials here said.

According to K. Subhakar, coordinator swine flu nodal centre here, they were admitted to the Government Chest Hospital with swine flu symptoms three days ago. This was confirmed by National Institute of Communicable Diseases.

The fresh cases include a woman and her son who had landed here from Philadelphia, US, and another child who had come from London. The remaining two children contracted the virus from their relative, who tested positive recently.

The fresh cases were reported a day after two people, including a two-year-old girl, tested positive in Visakhapatnam. These were the first cases outside Hyderabad.

A nodal centre has been set up at King George Hospital in Visakhapatnam. Five other persons who have suspected symptoms of swine flu have also been quarantined.

Subhakar said of the 48 cases, 39 were discharged after treatment while nine were under treatment. The test results of six more people are awaited.
