Bhubaneswar, Jan 7 (Inditop) Life-saving drugs worth Rs.10 million have been found dumped on an isolated stretch of road in Orissa, police said Wednesday.
The medicines are suspected to have been offloaded from a truck near Kutra village in Sundergarh district, 350 km from here.
“Costing around Rs.10 million, the medicines were transported from Mayurbhanj district,” said S.R. Panda, additional district superintendent of police.
He suspects that some people had lured the employees of a truck carrying the medicines and unloaded them on to a separate truck to transport them. But fearing police action, they finally dumped the drugs on the road and fled, he said.
Police have detained two people in connection with the incident.
