New Delhi, Dec 3 (Inditop.com) The capital Thursday reported seven new dengue cases taking the tally of those affected by the mosquito-borne disease to 1,113, a health department official said.
“On Thursday, seven new dengue cases were reported. The total number of people affected by the disease is now 1,113,” a senior health department official told Inditop.
Three people have also died due to the disease.
The third dengue death, of a 45-year-old man, was confirmed Wednesday by the health department.
The earlier two deaths were of a 15-year-old boy and a nine-year-old boy.
With the onset of winter, the health department is hoping that the number of dengue cases would drop since the breeding of the carrier mosquito cannot occur below 15 degrees Celsius.
Last year the national capital reported two dengue deaths and a total of 1,312 cases.
