London, Dec 1 (Inditop.com) Film and TV actor Alec Baldwin says he will quit acting in 2012 because he considers his movie career a “failure”.
Baldwin, 51, boasts of an Oscar nomination, two Golden Globes and two Emmy Awards, but insists his body of work is nothing to be proud of and so he’s vowed to bow out of showbiz when his contract with hit sitcom “30 Rock” expires in three years’ time, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
“I don’t have any interest in acting anymore. Movies are part of my past. It’s been 30 years. I’m not young, but I have time to do something else,” he said.
“It’s a difficult thing to say, but I believe it — I consider my entire movie career a complete failure. I’ll tell you why. The goal of moviemaking is to star in a film where your performance drives the film, and the film is either a soaring critical or commercial success, and I never had that,” he added.
The actor, who has considered a career in politics, currently has one more movie coming out titled “It’s Complicated”. He has teamed up with with Meryl Streep and Steve Martin in the film that hits the screen in the US Dec 25.
