Disgraced R&B star CHRIS BROWN has dismissed reports he had acted violently towards RIHANNA on two occasions prior to their notorious February (09) bust-up
The fallen singer pleaded guilty to beating up his then-girlfriend after a pre-Grammy Awards party and has been sentenced to five years probation.
Rumours surfaced shortly after his arrest suggesting it had not been the first time he had assaulted Rihanna, and Brown’s probation report appears to back up the claims.
According to U.S. newsman Larry King, who quizzed Brown in his first interview since the attack, the police document refers to one incident in Europe last year (08) when Brown allegedly shoved Rihanna into a wall after a disagreement, and another occasion in the Umbrella hitmaker’s native Barbados, when he allegedly smashed the windows of a car.
When asked about the reported altercations, Brown denied the fights even took place, stating, “I’m not aware of those incidents… Our relationship was pretty good; we had a pretty sturdy, great relationship.”
His attorney, Mark Geragos, who was also present for the interview, insists the police officer who filled out the report took the information from a third party and didn’t confirm any details with either Brown or Rihanna to determine whether the incidents actually took place.
Geragos added, “As far as I’m aware, he took those details from other reports; he never spoke to Chris or Rihanna.”
The interview aired in the U.S. on Wednesday night (02Sep09).
