A low-key CHRIS BROWN managed to pay his respects to the late MICHAEL JACKSON at his public memorial service in July (09), sitting just rows behind the King of Pop’s grieving family at the televised Los Angeles event.
The disgraced singer, who fell out of favour with the public following his February (09) attack on ex-girlfriend Rihanna, managed to evade the thousands of photographers present at the Staples Center ceremony to join stars like Mariah Carey, Usher and Lionel Richie as they mourned Jackson’s passing.
In his first TV interview since his arrest, Brown tells U.S. presenter Larry King, “I did (attend the memorial). I just kept a low profile. I was a couple (of) rows back. I just chilled, I wanted to pay my respects.”
Jackson’s 7 July (09) memorial took place just weeks after Brown reached a plea deal with prosecutors over the assault that saw him sentenced to five years probation and six weeks of hard labour in August (09).
