Crime-fighting duo CAGNEY AND LACEY have reunited on screen nearly 30 years after the hit 1980s TV series first aired.
Cagney and Lacey, which focused on two female New York cops, ran from 1982 to 1988 and was the first American show to feature two women in the lead roles.
Sharon Gless, 66, who played Detective Sergeant Christine Cagney, now stars in U.S. spy thriller Burn Notice and bosses signed up her former co-star, Tyne Daly, 63, who starred as Detective Mary Beth Lacey, for a guest appearance.
The pair last appeared together on TV in 1996 resurrecting Cagney and Lacey for a movie.
Gless admits she was delighted to be working with her old partner again, she says, “It was wonderful. And I’m not just saying that. It was just like old times. She and I sweated together for six years and we just know each other’s timing. It was a real treat for me to have her on the show.”
