London, April 28 (Inditop.com) Actress Carey Mulligan is tipped to play the lead in a movie adaptation of best-selling thriller “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”.
The 24 year-old, who rose to fame with her role in “An Education”, is likely to play Lisbeth Salander, the heroine of Stieg Larsson’s hugely popular Millennium trilogy, in the planned film adaptation, reports dailymail.co.uk.
Mulligan had also revealed in a recent interview: “I am obsessed with those books. I would love to do them. I am not going to lie about that. I would love to play Lisbeth Salander.”
If she is selected, it is expected the deal will be in the region of 10 million pounds for the three films covering the Larsson’s trilogy: “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”, “The Girl who Played With Fire” and “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest”.
The story follows the career of Salander, a bisexual private investigator and her curious relationship with a struggling journalist.
