London, May 5 (Inditop) Clicking Amy Winhehouse’s pictures can now translate into legal trouble for the paparazzi with a court order banning photographers from pursuing the singer outside her London home.
The troubled singer, who is currently enjoying an extended break in the Caribbean, was battling it out in court to control snappers who follow her while she is in Britain. Now her legal team have secured a ruling which targets London-based Big Pictures agency, banning its photographers from taking any shots of the star, reported femalefirst.co.uk.
Photographers could face prosecution if they follow Winehouse or approach her home within 100 metres. The court order also refers to “persons unknown” who seek to snap the singer outside her home or in other public places. Photographers are also prohibited from taking shots of her while she is visiting friends and family.
“Every time she got in her car she was chased or jostled and it has become unsafe not just for her, but for the people around her. We don’t have a problem with the press doing their job but it has become mayhem a couple of times and Amy had to do something,” a source had told The Guardian.
Two months ago, pop star Lily Allen secured a similar ruling against the paparazzi.
