ADAM ‘DJ AM’ GOLDSTEIN’s private memorial service will resemble a ’12-step recovery meeting’, according to U.S. reports.
The celebrity DJ, 36, was found dead in his New York apartment on Friday (28Aug09) after suffering a suspected drug overdose.
Family and friends have been invited to remember Goldstein in a ceremony at the Hollywood Palladium on Thursday (3Sep09) at 7 pm local time.
According to an invitation obtained by Us Weekly magazine, “the format of the evening will be in the style of an open 12 step meeting.”
The spinner famously battled an addiction to crack cocaine in his 20s. Reports have suggested he suffered a relapse after developing a dependency on anxiety medication following a near-fatal plane crash with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker in South Carolina last September (08).
