Abu Dhabi, April 7 (Inditop.com/WAM) The London Symphony Orchestra enthralled the audience at the Abu Dhabi Festival with two superb concerts featuring world-class composers.
Orchestra conductor Kristjan Jarvi Tuesday night led a rousing performance of symphonic dances from Leonard Bernstein and Sergei Rachmaninov, as well as a gorgeous rendition of George Gershwin’s unique Rhapsody in Blue by pianist Wayne Marshall.
The second performance featured eminent British conductor Sir Colin Davis and violinist Arabella Steinbacher. The violinist was the evening’s featured soloist and was ably supported by the orchestra whose performances led to thunderous applause inside the packed palace auditorium here.
“It was an extraordinary pleasure to have the London Symphony Orchestra perform such a superb concert for us. There is no more fitting way to celebrate what has been an extraordinary festival than to welcome Sir Colin Davis to Abu Dhabi to conduct the world-class orchestra,” Hoda Al Khamis Kanoo, founder and artistic director of the Abu Dhabi Festival, said.
