Actor-turned-nightlife entrepreneur CHRIS NOTH hasn’t let his doomed New York music club kill his ambition to make a comeback – he played a surprise DJ set in Brazil.
The Sex and the City star closed the doors of his former celebrity hotspot and performance venue The Cutting Room earlier this year (Jan09) – 10 years after opening the venue in the city where the hit TV show was set.
He announced his plans of expanding his empire, telling Interview magazine last year (08): “New York is pretty much commercialised to the point of no return… I want to take the club to Vegas.”
But as his own club’s future hangs in the balance, Noth took an offer from bosses at the Londra bar at the Fasano Hotel in Rio de Janeiro to take over the turntables for one night last week (ends28Aug09).
According to Brazilian website Glamurama, Noth obliged after complaining to management about the club’s techno music and rocked revellers with a set paying tribute to the 1980s.
