RONNIE WOOD’s daughter LEAH has dismissed rumours she’s banned her dad from seeing his new granddaughter – insisting the rocker is taking an active role in the tot’s life.
Leah gave birth to her first child, Maggie Dylan, in May (09) nearly a year after Wood split from her mother Jo after his affair with a 20-year-old Russian waitress came to light.
The family was dogged by reports the Rolling Stones star was not welcome at celebrations following the birth, because Leah had sided with her mother in the split.
But Leah is adamant she has maintained a good relationship with her father – and he happily dotes on little Maggie.
She says, “Dad saw Maggie when she was born and he is a very proud grandfather. He sees her when he can but he is off travelling most of the time or busy painting. When it’s the right time for both of us, we join forces. A father and daughter always have a special bond and when I was pregnant I was like: ‘Where is my dad, I need to see him.’
“I love his company. He is a wonderful man and, whatever has happened, he is my dad at the end of the day.”
