New York, Jan 29 (Inditop) Writer Richard Fronduto has filed a case against Disney Channel, claiming that its hit series “Hannah Montana” is inspired by his script. He wants credit in the form of money.

According to tmz.com, Fronduto filed the lawsuit in a Los Angeles County Superior Court. He claims he wrote the script in 1990 called “The Secret Life Of Sindi”, which eventually became “The Family Business”. Fronduto claims that his agent took it to Disney and they liked it enough to ask him to write a two-hour pilot.

He says there are many similarities between his script and “Hannah Montana”. They both have a early-teen girl who has a double life of ordinary teen and successful pop star. Both the shows have a single parent who is also the girl’s manager, and both have a best friend “with whom she shares her secrets”.

Fornduto is suing for damages as well as “Created by” credit for all future publications of “Hannah Montana”.
