Ranchi, Nov 14 (IANS) Eleven people, including six contract labourers, were injured in a blast that took place in the Tata Steel plant at Jamshedpur in Jharkhand Thursday, an official of the company said.

“The explosion took place in the LD gas holder in the steel plant. After the explosion, a fire broke out which was later extinguished. Eleven people, including six contract labourers, were injured,” Prabahat Sharma, spokesperson of Tata Steel, told IANS over telephone.
The injured labourers were rushed to hospital where two were said to be critical. The roof of the gas holder was badly damaged.
“The area has been isolated and there is no impact on any other part of the plant. Production is taking place in a normal way,” Sharma said.
