Srinagar, April 22 (Inditop.com) After being lashed by incessant rains for some days, raising water levels in rivers and lakes, the Kashmir Valley can expect pleasant sunshine in the coming days, the weatherman said Thursday.

“Weather will continue to improve from today (Thursday). There would be no rain or snow in the plains during the next two days though light rain or snowfall might occur in the higher reaches during this period,” said Sonum Lotus, director of the local weather office.

“From April 24 there will be pleasant sunshine across the valley,” Lotus added.

Alarmed by rise in water level in Jhelum river during the last two days, authorities had put the flood control machinery on high alert.

“We have been constantly monitoring the water level in the Jhelum which was just one foot below the danger level mark yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon,” said a flood control department official here.
