New Delhi, Jan 28 (Inditop.com) A change from the past few days, Delhi woke up to a pleasant morning Thursday with little fog and a rise in the mercury level. The met department has however forecast light rain over the next 24 hours.

“The fog situation in the capital is better today (Thursday). Visibility early morning was around 400 metres with the sun shining brightly a little later,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official told Inditop.

The minimum temperature recorded early in the day, at 10.1 degrees Celsius, was two degrees above the average. The maximum temperature was five degrees above average at 26.6 degrees Celsius.

The capital can expect light rainfall over the next 24 hours, the IMD official added.

“There is a cyclonic circulation over western Rajasthan as well as a western disturbance. This has caused the skies to become cloudy here and there is a possibility of lightning and light rainfall over some areas in the next 24 hours,” the official told IANS.

While the fog cover was not much dense, there were nevertheless train and flight delays reported early in the day because of poor weather conditions.

“As many as 49 trains were delayed, some by as much as 30 hours today. In addition to that, 24 trains were rescheduled and 27 cancelled,” a Northern Railway official said.
