Agra, Dec 31 (IANS) Over 100 artistes from Bollywood and rest of the country have put together a unique show called “Utsav Rishton Ka”. The hour-long program will be unveiled from Makar Sankrati and the makers says the idea is to present the flavour and fragrance of India in all its rich variety and spiritual nuances to the international tourists.
The show, supported by noted Bollywood music composer Uttam Singh, sound engineer Satish Gupta and choreographer Kamal Nath, will be staged at the Kalakriti Auditorium, near Taj Mahal.
A media preview of the show was held Monday and it not only acquainted viewers with the rich Indian culture, through dances, and Sufiana music, and varied costumes, but also wowed and captivated them.
Oswal Group chairman Ashok Jain, who has produced the show and also owns the auditorium, said that it had been “a patient 38-year-old journey to develop these programmes.”
“We want tourists to take home flavour and fragrance of India in all its rich variety and spiritual nuances,” he added.
The dances are inextricably mixed in a harmonious blend.
The show opens with Rajasthani folk dance, followed by Punjabi Bhangra. The Malangs and Sufis’ performance transports viewers to another ecstatic world.
Culture critic Mahesh Dhakar told IANS: “The show fills a vital gap. Tourists, who are in a great hurry – touch, see and go type – will find the presentations memorable. “Clearly one of the best and most appropriated choreographed show in our country.”
