New Delhi, Feb 28 (IANS) The swanky high-speed Airport Metro Express Line (AMEL), led by Reliance Infrastructure, is going another step forward in customer comfort by providing cloak-room service at one of its Metro stations, an official said Tuesday.
‘Passengers who travel long distances usually carry number of bags. Now at a very nominal cost they can get cloak-room facility at New Delhi station where they can keep their bags and enjoy a hassle-free time before they start for their respective destinations,’ said a spokesperson of Reliance Infrastructure.
A cloak-room service at the Airport Metro, connecting both the railway station and the airport, will be highly convenient for the railway passengers as well as for the fliers.
According to officials, many outstation passengers will be benefited by the cloak-room facility.
‘Many outstation commuters, who come from Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan usually have a flight at late hours. They can easily avail the cloak-room facility and get rid of their luggage,’ the official added.
The 23-km Airport Metro, with six stations, connects New Delhi railway station with the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in 18 minutes. It has a ridership of 20,000 commuters a day.
