New Delhi, Nov 30 (IANS) Amar Pratap Singh Friday stepped down as the director of the country’s premier investigating agency, the CBI, Friday after completing his two-year tenure.
During Singh’s tenure, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) began probing the high-profile 2G case and the Adarsh Housing Society case.
IPS officer Ranjit Sinha will take over as the new CBI chief.
Sinha’s appointment to the federal agency has, however, been controversial, with opposition BJP raising questions about the manner in which he was appointed by the government.
