Re. Ethiopia story
IANS regrets that a story it put out Oct 20, 2011, on Ethiopian culture, pertaining to an Ethiopian dance performance in Delhi, carried a terminology which was offensive and derogatory. The correspondent took the terminology from published sources without realizing what it meant to the people of Ethiopia. The writer has apologized both orally and in writing to the Ethiopian embassy. IANS, which is proud of its commitment to professional values, also apologizes to the people of Ethiopia and the Ethiopian embassy in New Delhi.
