New Delhi, Dec 30 (IANS) A special plane carrying the body of the 23-year-old gang-raped physiotherapist intern arrived in India from Singapore early Sunday.
The chartered Air India plane touched down at Delhi airport around 4 a.m. The parents of the woman were also accompanying the body.
Earlier in Singapore, the body was embalmed after a post-mortem and placed in a special casket for being flown to India.
The woman was tortured and gang-raped by six men on Dec 16. She was in Safdarjung Hospital for 10 days before being flown to Singapore for treatment when her condition deteriorated. She died early Saturday.
