New Delhi, May 24 (IANS) A 10-year-old boy drowned in a pothole in the premises of Lady Hardinge Hospital in central Delhi, police said Thursday.

The victim identified as Monty drowned Wednesday evening in the deep pothole left open by a construction company in the hospital on Mandir Marg.
He was taken to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The incident took place around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday when Monty, a student of class 4, was playing.
His Om Praksh is an employee in hospital’s mortuary and resides with his family inside the hospital premises.
“A case of causing death due to negligence has been registered ,” said a police official.
Construction work is going inside the hospital for the past few weeks.
