New Delhi, Dec 16 (Inditop.com) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Wednesday filed a chargesheet in a city court against three people for submitting forged documents to the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) to run an educational institution.
The chargesheet was filed in the court of a CBI special judge against S.P. Singh, then regional officer at AICTE’s Chandigarh office, Manoj Kumar Chachal, chairman of Chachal educational society in Alwar, Rajasthan, and Sanjay Aggarwal of the same society.
The CBI had registered a case against them July 30 relating to the approval of an integrated campus of Educational and Welfare Society in Alwar.
“In our investigations, we found that Chachal and Aggarwal, in connivance with Singh, had submitted fake and forged land conversion certificate, false affidavit regarding non-mortgage of land and false fund position available with the society,” a CBI spokesman said here.
“Singh then dishonestly and fraudulently forwarded the proposal to AICTE headquarters. Even (basic) criteria(s) for setting up of (an) institution were not met,” the official added.
The CBI has been probing many such cases where educational societies submitted fake documents in connivance with AICTE officials to get required approval to run an educational institution.
