Jammu, Nov 2 (IANS) A day after a National Conference (NC) member said ‘Delhi was sponsoring grenade attacks in Kashmir’, the Congress in Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday attacked NC president Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, asking them to take serious note of the ‘false accusations’.

Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, NC’s additional general secretary and chief spokesman, had Tuesday made the statement at a party convention in Ganderbal district.

‘We reject with contempt the accusation of Kamal that Delhi hurled grenades in Kashmir. We can only say that only sick minds can give birth to such deplorable conceptions,’ Pradesh Congress Committee senior vice president Dharm Pal Sharma said in a statement.

Kamal is younger brother of Farooq Abdullah and uncle of Omar Abdullah.

The Congress leader asked the NC leadership ‘to take serious notice of Kamal’s false accusations’.

‘The public perception is that Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah are enjoying Kamal’s deplorable statements against the Congress. For, otherwise how could Kamal be promoted as NC’s chief spokesman after a series of unwarranted and condemnable statements against the Congress since the inception of the coalition,’ he said.
