Patna, April 4 (IANS) CPI(ML) candidate from Bihar’s Katihar Lok Sabha constituency was Friday arrested in a case of murder, soon after he filed his nomination papers, police said.
Mahboob Alam, a former legislator, was arrested as he was wanted in a case related to murder, a police official said.
Alam faces over a dozen criminal charges and was on the run for a decade before being arrested a few years ago. He was later released on bail.
NCP candidate and union Minister of State for Agriculture Tarique Anwar Thursday filed his nomination papers for the Katihar Lok Sabha seat.
