Kolkata, Dec 29 (IANS) The Delhi gang-rape victim is an inspiration for all women, said a young woman who was sexually assaulted in Kolkata’s Park Street.

Calling it as a “very sad day”, the mother of two said the Delhi girl’s fight to survive would always remain etched in her heart.
“It is a very sad day. The way she fought has given every other girl the courage to fight for their rights. She put up such a brave fight. She will always remain in our heart,” she said.
With West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee urging the central government to amend criminal laws to make them stringent, the Anglo-Indian woman hoped she too would get justice.
“I am very happy she (Banerjee) finally made such a strong statement. I hope she is compassionate to my cause as well,” said the victim.
“I am hopeful I would get justice. It is sad that our country needed such a tragedy to finally have an awakening. I hope that every girl who has been raped and is surviving gets justice,” she said.
