New Delhi, June 1 (IANS) Government schools in Delhi have registered an 8.1 percent increase in pass percentage with 99.09 pass percentage recorded in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) results for Class 10.
Congratulating the students on their success, Delhi Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said in a statement: ‘The result of the government schools has shown a marked improvement over the last few years. The government schools have achieved highest ever results in Class 10.’
Lovely said that this year 326 government schools achieved 100 percent results against 166 schools in 2010. Moreover, 893 government schools achieved 90 percent passing percentage against 609 schools last year.
‘The overall qualifying percentage of the girls is 99.16 percent, while overall qualifying percentage of boys is 98.90 percent,’ the minister said about the results which were declared Tuesday evening.
Lovely also congratulated the Directorate of Education for its untiring efforts in brining improvement and imparting quality education in government schools.
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit expressed her happiness over the results.
‘It is a matter of great pride and happiness for all of us that the children of the schools of Directorate of Education have once again shown excellent results in Class 10. This is due to the hard work put in by the children and parents under the supervision and guidance of our schools teachers.’
