New Delhi, Sep 29 (IANS) The Delhi government Thursday announced it was contributing Rs.5 crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for rehabilitation work in Sikkim following the Sep 18 earthquake.
‘There has been a substantial loss of property and lives in the unprecedented earthquake in Sikkim and there is a need to provide all possible help and assistance to the affected people,’ Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also announced a Rs.1,000 crore grant to Sikkim, where at least 78 people were killed in the 6.8-magnitude temblor.
